Catching up

I really need to blog properly again!
Not sure what I have shown you so far this year, but I have still been crafting! I started an 'Attic24' ripple blanket on New Year's Eve! It's not that far along, but it is rather beautiful and so soft!

I've also signed up to Crafty Creatives (www.craftycreatives.com) it's £10 per month (plus p&p) and you get a fab box of crafty goodies delivered every month! I love it!
I've started following A Girl Called Jack, and her super cheap recipes. She's got some fab things on there - her carrot, cumin and kidney bean falafels are really yummy, as well as her garlic, lemon and herb bread!
I am still reading blogs, so I'm not hiding away altogether, just a lot of the time I don't feel like I have much to blog about!
Promise I'll be back soon with more posts!
However, I'll leave you with photos of a couple of picture frames I made and sold on my craft stall last month!

Bits and Pieces

Yet again I've been a bad blogger!
Well the baby blankets I mentioned in my last post back in April were finished and posted off to their recipients. The first baby girl arrived about 7 weeks ago, and the 2nd is due to make an appearance any day now!

I've been doing lots of other things in the meantime, one of which is getting my craft room sorted out properly! It's not a big room, but it's cosy and I have an old comfy chair in there which belonged to my uncle. It is an armchair, but it's on a rocker, so it's perfect for a craft room!
Yesterday when I was having a 'sort through and throw out' day, I came across the very first blanket I ever started! I was planning to just keep going until I ran out of yarn, but in the end I must admit I got bored with it and moved on to other projects! I didn't throw it out though, and yesterday I decided to finish off the round I had been working on. I gave it a quick wash and tumble dry and now it brightens up my craft room chair!

Those two cushions on the chair, i plan to crochet some bright covers for them :-)

Also, I am still plodding on with my ripple blanket that I started on New Years Eve! It's slow going because I don't work on it all the time, but I absolutely love it! Here it is folded up on top of my project bag, waiting for me to start the next row!

It really is a lovely blanket to be working on, especially as its Stylecraft Special DK! (My favourite yarn!)

I've been doing a few other things too - had a couple of craft markets in the local area, and I have 2 markets over the August bank holiday weekend - one on the Sunday and one on the Monday!

I'd better go now, busy Sunday ahead for me! I still keep up to date with reading the blogs I follow on a daily basis, so I haven't disappeared altogether!

Tired...

Surely I'm not the only one who keeps on crocheting way long after I'm tired and trying not to fall asleep just because I need to 'finish this one round...'?
I've done all of the join as you go squares of the second baby blanket finished, and I wanted to get started on the very thick border. I'm just over half of the way round and I really should be asleep by now!

Long time no blog!

Wow, I hadn't realised it was September the last time I blogged! Scary how quickly time flies! A lot has happened since then - I got a temporary promotion at work that was meant to be for 6 months (the 6 months is up today!) but it got extended for a further year. It's a harder job, and that has meant that sometimes I am too tired to do any crocheting in my free time! :-(
However, I currently have a project on the go which has a deadline, so my tiredness will have to wait!
I have identical twin cousins. Both of them are married and one of them has two children. Either through happy coincicidence, or careful planning (I don't know which!) both of their wives are pregnant and expecting baby girls within 6 weeks of each other! Their mum has asked me to crochet a couple of blankets for her. I have finished one, and about halfway through the second, but the first of the babies is due on 3rd May so I need to get a move on!!
Here is the first one:

And the start of the 2nd one... (I'm currently only 7 squares away from finishing the 7x7 square centre of the blanket, so much further on than this picture suggests!)

What do you think? :-)
I'll post again soon with some other things I have been crocheting since I last blogged!

Granny Stripe Finished!

Well I was starting to think it would never happen, but I finally finished my granny stripe blanket! Actually I finished it a few months ago, but I haven't got found to blogging for a long time!
Thanks, Lucy for the fabulous inspiration!

I hope you like it! I'll try and post a photo of the matching cushion I made soon!
